ABBA A. ONYEANI

Abba A. Onyeani was born in East Orange, New Jersey. Raised in East Orange, New Jersey, Mr. Onyeani is a proud product of East Orange Public Schools. He is a currently a Doctoral Candidate at Northcentral University. Mr. Onyeani is currently an English teacher at the prestigious Cicely L. Tyson Community Middle/High School of Performing and Fine Arts in East Orange, NJ. He is the author of over 10 books and 2 of them being children’s books. The first title “Mommy, Can you please comb my hair?” is an exploration of self-love and the beauty of Black hair. The second children’s book is “Self-Discipline is my SuperPower!” which is the story of a little boy named, Marcus, who learns how to use the powerful tool of self-discipline to reach his goals in life and overcome different obstacles. Both books have been used extensively in New Jersey public schools, and “Mommy, Can you please comb my hair?” was chosen as a book for the Elementary (K-5) Summer Reading List for the East Orange School District. Mr. Onyeani has been a guest speaker on a number of panels that encourage reading for our future leaders of tomorrow. Mr. Onyeani is also a technology consultant and entrepreneur, who believes in teaching his students the power of using

self-discipline and self-motivation to reach their dreams and goals in life, no matter where they come from.
